Experience two of the Eastern Cape's most rewarding wildlife destinations in

one unforgettable day. This full day safari combines a morning guided game drive

through Addo Elephant National Park with an afternoon and evening Schotia Tooth

& Claw Safari in an open safari vehicle.

Begin with the vast landscapes of Addo, where you can encounter large herds of

elephants, buffalo, kudu and other wildlife. Continue to Schotia Private Game

Reserve for a more intimate safari experience, where free roaming wildlife and

the open vehicle provide exceptional opportunities for close up viewing of

elephants, rhino, hippo, giraffe, lions and other African wildlife.

Your day concludes with a traditional home cooked dinner around the fires at

the Schotia boma before the evening game drive and return journey.

Itinerary

Morning

  • Collection from your hotel, guesthouse or bed and breakfast

  • Travel to Addo Elephant National Park

  • Guided game drive through the park in a closed vehicle

  • Opportunity to visit the curio shop and purchase snacks before the game drive

  • Explore the park's wildlife areas, with particular focus on elephants, buffalo and antelope

  • Lunch stop

Afternoon and Evening

  • Continue to Schotia Private Game Reserve

  • Register at the Schotia reception and complete the required indemnity form

  • Meet your ranger and enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, juice and biscuits

  • Depart on an open vehicle Tooth & Claw game drive

  • Experience close encounters with free roaming wildlife

  • Refreshment and toilet stop during the afternoon

  • Continue the game drive into the evening

  • Enjoy a traditional home cooked dinner around the fires at the Lapa

  • Continue with evening and nocturnal wildlife viewing

  • Return transfer following the safari

Wildlife sightings may include elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, hippo, giraffe,

zebra, wildebeest, crocodile and various antelope species. Sightings cannot be

guaranteed and each safari is different.

Dinner

A traditional home cooked meal is served around the fires at the Schotia Lapa.

The usual menu may include:

  • Venison or beef stew / roast

  • Chicken casserole

  • Potato dishes

  • Rice

  • Vegetables

  • Homemade bread

  • Dessert

  • Tea or coffee

Preparation

  • Bring your camera and spare batteries

  • Binoculars are recommended

  • Bring a warm jacket for the afternoon and evening

  • Hat or cap

  • Sunscreen and sunglasses

  • Inform us of any allergies or dietary requirements in advance

Important: Visitors must not carry fruit in bags or pockets.

Elephants can detect the smell of fruit and may be attracted to guests carrying it.

Accessibility: Schotia Private Game Reserve is not wheelchair friendly.
